What is Positive Behaviour Support?

Positive Behaviour Support is a compassionate, evidence-based approach that focuses on understanding why challenging behaviours occur and addressing those reasons in a respectful and empowering way. At Enrichment Care, we don’t just look at the behaviour itself; we delve deep into the context and the individual’s needs, crafting strategies that promote well-being and personal growth.

The four fundamentals of PBS

Our PBS approach is guided by four core principles:

  1. Social Skills and Communication: We try to enhance social skills and communication abilities, as effective and respectful communication is crucial for successful PBS strategies.
  2. Environment Support: We identify environmental triggers contributing to challenging behaviours and work with you to create supportive, inclusive environments promoting positive change.
  3. Safe Response Practice: Our team assists in implementing Safe Response Practices to address potentially unsafe behaviours, focusing on validating emotions and providing safe, effective coping strategies.
  4. Stress and Anger Management: We teach individuals stress and anger management techniques, such as counting to ten, physical exercise, guided meditation, and using sensory devices tailored to their specific needs and preferences.

Testimonials

What our clients say

Would highly recommend to any family or individual with disability. My son has autism and type 1 diabetes and requires care on a daily bases. My wife and I have been through multiple NDIS providers, which were lacking compassion and care that suited my son's needs, until a family friend recommended us Enrichment Care. Whom were friendly and well driven to provide my son the quality of care he needs. Our carer Jasmine has been excellent with us and has gone over and beyond our expectations and is my son's favourite carer. I would thank Enrichment Care for actually caring about their clients, unlike the many of NDIS providers that we have gone through.

Great service! Sam from Enrichment Care was able to match us with a Korean-speaking disability support worker, who has helped my daughter with Angelman syndrome..

Through working with Enrichment Care, I actually felt like Maung was receiving the quality of care that he required and we didn't feel like a client and more like a friend who was in need of help. They could provide cheaper, personalise the care for Maung as he wasn't just a number in their system and more like an actual family member, in which they gave us a permanent, Burmese speaking support worker (Saw) which was great in elevating language barriers and now Maung considers him to be his best friend.
